2. Information We Collect

We are committed to minimizing data collection. Here is what we collect and why:

• No Account Data: NovaTalk requires no registration, email address, or phone number.
• No Chat Logs: Text messages sent through NovaTalk are relayed in real-time and not stored on our servers. Once a session ends, messages are permanently gone.
• No Video Recording: Video streams are established via WebRTC (peer-to-peer) and are never routed through or recorded by our servers.
• Connection Data: We temporarily hold socket connection identifiers (session IDs) in memory to facilitate matching. These are discarded when you disconnect.
• Usage Analytics: We may collect aggregated, anonymous usage statistics (e.g., number of active connections) for infrastructure monitoring. This data cannot be used to identify you.

3. Cookies and Google AdSense

NovaTalk uses Google AdSense to display advertisements. Google AdSense uses cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to websites. These cookies are set by Google LLC.

• Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visit to NovaTalk and/or other sites on the Internet.
• You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.
• You may also opt out of third-party vendor cookies for personalized advertising by visiting aboutads.info.

We also use essential session cookies necessary for the proper functioning of the site. These do not track personal information.

4. Children's Privacy (18+ Restriction)

NovaTalk is strictly for users who are 18 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect any data from persons under 18. If you are under 18, you are not permitted to use NovaTalk. If we discover that a person under 18 has provided us with any information, we will take steps to delete such information immediately.

5. Third-Party Services

Our service relies on the following third-party services:

• Socket.IO / Koyeb: Our real-time matching server is hosted on Koyeb. No chat content is stored by this server.
• Google AdSense: Used for displaying advertisements. Google has its own privacy policy governing the use of data for advertising purposes.
• ImgBB: Optional image sharing feature uses the ImgBB API. Images uploaded are subject to ImgBB's Terms of Service. Do not share private images.
• WebRTC STUN Servers: Google's public STUN servers are used to facilitate peer-to-peer video connections. Only IP addresses are briefly exchanged during connection setup.

6. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect the limited data we handle. Since we do not store personal data or chat logs, the risk of data breaches affecting your conversations is minimal.

7. International Users

NovaTalk is operated globally. By using our service, you consent to the transfer of any connection data to servers located outside your country of residence, which may have different data protection rules.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of any significant changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of NovaTalk after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
